Your files, your shell,
one window.
NexPane is a fast, native file manager for Windows with a real terminal, previews and editing, git, and a task manager built in.
Windows 10 and 11 Free for 14 days $39 once, yours for life

What's inside
A file manager that doesn't send you elsewhere.
Open a terminal, read a diff, fix a config file, find what's filling your drive. It all happens in the pane you're already in.

A real terminal, built in
Open a shell in tabs right where you are. Full color, clickable links, and search through the scrollback. Drop a file on it to paste its path. Dock it under your files, beside them, or give it a pane of its own.
Split panes and docking
Split any pane horizontally or vertically. Every pane has its own tabs and location, and you can drag tabs and files between them.

Preview and edit files
Preview code, images, video, audio, PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, 3D models, fonts and archives, and see the EXIF details of photos. Text files can be edited in the preview, with syntax highlighting, search and undo.
Git, built in
Repositories are recognized when you open them. Changed files are marked as you browse, and opening one shows a side-by-side or inline diff you can edit. You can also stage, unstage and browse history.
Fast search
Search a folder, a drive or every drive at once, with results streaming in as you type. Use fuzzy matching, plain text, glob patterns or regular expressions, or search the text inside files.

Space Analyzer
An interactive map of any drive, sized by disk usage and colored by file type. You can drill into folders and delete items from the map.
Task manager
See processes, performance, network connections, startup apps, services and the event log.

Themes and customization
Use the built-in dark or light theme, or make your own in the theme editor. You can also change the density, the fonts, what the sidebar and status bar show, and what each pane contains.

And plenty of smaller things.
Picks up where you left off
Close it, reopen it, and every pane and tab is where you left it.
Undo and redo
Renames, moves, copies and deletes can all be taken back.
Transfers you can follow
Progress, speed and what's happening right now, for every long operation.
Network and cloud locations
Browse SMB, SFTP, FTP, FTPS, WebDAV and S3 locations, and your OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud Drive and Dropbox folders.
Archives, opened like folders
Browse ZIP, 7z, RAR and TAR files and take out what you need.
Recycle Bin, built in
Browse, restore or empty the Recycle Bin.
Bulk rename
Rename many files at once, with a preview before anything changes.
Views that remember
Details, list, tiles or icons, set per folder.
Bookmarks
Pin the folders you use most.
Command palette and shortcuts
One shortcut searches every command, and any shortcut can be changed.
Voice input
Dictate into text fields, editors and the terminal.
Ten languages
English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Русский, 日本語, 简体中文, 한국어 and العربية.

Common questions
Something else? Email support@nexpane.app.
What does the lifetime license include?
Everything. One payment of $39 gets you the full app and every update we release, major new versions included, on all of your own PCs. There's no subscription and nothing to renew.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
NexPane asks for a license key. We never take a card to start the trial, so nothing is ever charged automatically. Buy when you're ready, paste in your key, and everything you set up during the trial stays exactly as it was.
How many PCs can I use it on?
As many as you personally use: your desktop, your laptop, your work machine. A license is for one person, so anyone else who uses NexPane needs their own. You can see and remove your activated devices any time on your devices page.
Will my license keep working in the future?
Yes. It never expires, and it doesn't depend on us being around. If NexPane were ever discontinued, we would first release a final version that needs no activation at all, so the copy you have keeps working for good. That commitment is written into our Terms.
Can I use it at work?
Yes. Personal and commercial use are both covered. Buying for a team? Email support@nexpane.app about volume pricing.
What if it isn't for me?
Try it free for 14 days first. If you buy and change your mind, you have 14 days from purchase to get a full refund, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's nothing to sign up for. Your license key is all you need, and it's emailed to you as soon as you buy.
Does NexPane work offline?
Yes. It needs the internet to start the trial and to activate. After that it checks in every few weeks, and works fully offline in between.
Who handles payment?
Checkout is run by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and emails your receipt. We never see your card details.
What data does NexPane collect?
As little as possible. The app sends no telemetry or analytics, and nothing about your files is ever sent to us. To manage licenses, our server sees your key, a hashed machine ID, your PC's name and your IP address. The privacy policy lists everything.
